WEATHER INSTRUMENTATION
This course will cover how to site, configure, install, and troubleshoot weather instrumentation that is essential to your organization or project’s success. We will engage concepts with hands-on learning opportunities.
WINTER WEATHER FORECASTING
Learn the basics of winter weather forecasting, with a focus on forecasting in mountainous areas. This course covers introductory meteorology concepts, mid-latitude storms, and mountain weather. Students will get the resources and skills needed to make basic winter weather forecasts and get a deeper understanding of the strengths and limitations of traditional weather forecasting.
DRONE MAPPING & IMAGERY COLLECTION
An introduction to flying and collecting imagery with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs aka drones). This course starts with the essentials- regulations and safe flying practices- before covering the basics of drone systems, imagery collection, and processing. Includes hands on practice with flying and flight planning.
